------
We were asked the other day by the constable if we could try and stop the goblins from attacking the tradesmen. He offered us 100 silver when we brought back proof that the problem had been dealt with. The party was happy to go ahead and chop of all their heads. I mean we’re totally capable of that. But Borgergorg was determined that we hold back from attacking for as long as possible and thought ‘negotiating’ would be the better option. No one with any common sense has ever suggested that goblins are good at talking. They dig just like us dwarves but they dig for their own good and their own good only. They’re even greedier than my grandad and he’s known as the magpie. The point is goblins don’t care about anyone but themselves, I should know, they attacked our village multiple times. Anyway, we invited Cynric and Randall along as Cynric was pretty eager to get out of town. The journey wasn’t as easy as we’d anticipated, turned out the constable’s instructions were less clear than we would have liked but we made it to what was clearly a goblin cave. The party decided to stake out for a bit, during which the discussion about what we would do once we got in continued. Eventually I’d had enough of the rambling and decided it was time to head in. Borg called in and tried to get the attention of the goblins but they didn’t respond so we headed forward, weapons at the ready in case they attacked. At the end of the tunnel was a cave-in with no apparent exit and no goblins to be seen. I worked out that there must be a hidden tunnel or something similar, so the party started patting at the walls with their weapons to try and find it. Erizax quickly found what appeared to be a wooden door. Borg knocked to try and start a conversation, again. After several attempts with no success Eleanor picked the lock and we headed in. As soon as we entered they started throwing axes at us. Pretty terribly if I say so myself. But that made it clear they weren’t willing to talk. Most of us got ready to fight, of course Borg continued yelling for peace. I started edging forward hoping not to break formation but the goblins just kept throwing so I knew I needed to get to them faster if we were going to take them down. I managed to knock out one of the goblins in just two hits and his comrades kept fumbling. It was made clear early on that we had the upper hand just as I had suspected. After all, goblins are rather stupid. It didn’t take too long for us to knock them all out and luckily, none of us got too badly injured in the process. Now we just have to collect our evidence and hand it in to the constable.
