DF Novices, Team-A, Session 47 - Diary of Merrill Tangled Tail
Here is a report from the player of Merrill for the previous game, the last session before the break.

Diary of Merrill Tangled Tail:
Suddenly, there fire. Much fire. It just in time, because goblin with sword decided to run at Merrill, while other goblin with sword begin running away. It normally not big problem, because one goblin with sword not really danger to Merrill, but this time fire just in time. Master Lashki, for Merrill's birthday of ten years, give Merrill staff that at time much much too big for Merrill. But now Merrill not so little anymore, and staff feel good in hand, feel like extension of arm. It Merrill's staff. But just before fire appear, goblin's sword cut straight through Merrill's staff! Bit of staff that was shining like torch from magic of Erizax fell off, and Merrill suddenly left with staff of three sixteens. That not enough to make quarter!
Why it not hold for two more days? Nearly six years, urgh!
Luckily Merrill now very much used to seeing fire appear when Erizax the wise decide it time for new plan. So Merrill able to fall back to friends while fire between Merrill and goblins, and avoiding hobgoblins and other dangerous people attacking friends. Into darkness, yes yes, because Erizax also create place where light did not go. That strange at first, but Merrill has good eyes and good ears. When eyes cannot see, ears hear better. It then time to retreat.
It seem that, of friends, only Merrill and Eleanor the swift are still swift. Others either tired, hurt, or otherwise unable to run at pace we run at. So it now up to Merrill and Eleanor to keep friends safe and guide back to exit. We rest for moment in room leading to corridor, through door from corridor, before taking door to corridor that is not corridor in which was door to room. Merrill watch rear, Eleanor watch front, together we move.
But it soon clear that enemies still around, and in front angry Hobgoblin appear. Merrill run forward, but not to fight, no no. Time for fighting is over. It clear that friends not able to fight much longer, and Merrill only has three sixteen staff and claws. That not good enough. So this time, Merrill try to make clear to Hobgoblin, we only mean to leave. That is what goblins, hobgoblins, and orcs wanted, so Merrill believed it would be better to say we leave than have to fight people who want us to leave only to leave after. What is point? It logical to simply leave, it clear we all want same thing.
Unfortunately it seem that logic not logical to all, and Hobgoblin not inclined to listen to logic. Very vexing. Merrill also lost sight of Eleanor until suddenly Eleanor appear near Hobgoblin. Now there must be fight. Goblins running in from corridor behind Hobgoblin...
... Moons, here go we again...
Sessions 47 and 46 reports made me laugh. Good game.
