GURPS DF Session 48 - Caves of Chaos, part 2
I will try to keep my summary brief.
Some of the players will have more detailed in-character accounts.
Session Date: Thursday 14 November 2019
Party roster:
Miao Miao, cat-folk swashbuckler, 391 points (PC)
- Jenkins, human servant, 186 points (NPC Ally)
- Brother Warian, human monk (initiate), 177 points (NPC Ally)
Davin Emberwood, human wizard, 326 points (PC)
Llandor the Gray, wood-elf scout, 290 points (PC)
Sister Miriam Suntemple, human cleric, 297 points (PC)
Childebert "Bert" Ingoberger, halfling thief, 251 points (PC)
Location: Town of Marsh Hall, Barony of Marrowmarsh
Llandor left town a day early to gather some provisions. The rest of the party spent a day in Marsh Hall hurriedly gathering additional info.
Jenkins found a caravan that needed a driver (luckily Warian has Teamster skill), and negotiated basic pay and food with the merchant Jancy of Falonde for escorting the caravan most of the way.
The four days with the caravan were largely uneventful.
The party passed through Tyrvo on their way north. Some party members had previously heard rumours regarding Baron Octavius, but there wasn't time to dally.
Llandor and Davin both noticed that the lead wagon apparently had something magical (chest?) in the lead wagon, but Jancy was clearly very watchful of it, and Davin had to suppress his Curiosity.
After four days the party split with the caravan as it took the road to Falonde, and the party proceeded to the borderlands on foot.
A further three days hiking, with Warian suffering an injury that was easily healed, and the party finally at the keep.
The party stayed the night at the inn in the keep.
Davin got himself and Miao an audience with the Castellan, but nothing substantive was gained.
Mirian and Warian payed their respects to the Curate who tended to the keep's small shrine.
Most info gained was in the former of rumours from patrons at the inn.
The party set out the next day for the caves. After a few miles they proceeded into the forest, and were set upon by hobgoblins waiting in ambush.
The hobgoblins got the drop, and Llandor being out in front, was almost surrounded.
The session ended with most of the hobgoblins down or fleeing. Unfortunately we ran out of time. There is still a slight danger to some of the party, so we'll see what happens next session.
Some of the players will have more detailed in-character accounts.
